Nearly everyone knows what it is like to lose a beloved pet. Most have wondered what happens to them once they leave this earthly realm. Ashley Lang from Chicago may have found out recently when she released the ashes of Wagner, her 12 year-old dog who had recently passed away. According to a CBS Chicago report, Ashley’s friend was nearby to snap a photo as Ashley released Wagner’s ashes in one of his favorite play areas. What she captured left Ashley mystified. A misty white image that appears to be the shape of a dog is seen leaping into the air.
The American Kennel Club posted a link to the story for its Facebook followers on October 22 and has already received nearly 5,000 shares and over 22,000 likes. If the more than 600 comments left behind by dog lovers is any indication, nearly everyone agrees that this photo is one other-worldly image they want to believe.
In December 2014 , Pope Francis hit the headlines when he told a little boy who was grieving for the loss of his cherished dog that he would see his dog again in heaven because “paradise is open to all God’s creatures”. No one knows for sure what happens to the souls of beloved pets when they leave this earth, but the assumed image of Wagner as he leaps for joy is likely to touch the hearts of dog lovers everywhere and give them a moment’s pause.
