While there are Cheesecake Factories around the country, none fit their communities as perfectly as the Anaheim Cheesecake Factory because Disneyland and Disney California Adventure make Anaheim the home of fantasy and make-believe worlds. If you are basking in a downer, depressed mood, you may want to avoid this particular restaurant because the whimsical setting, pastel colors and spaciousness are designed to uplift your mood and put you in a lighthearted frame of mind.
Their menu too has a touch of exotic in the fantastic variety touching on cultures around the world, such as Vietnamese Shrimp Summer Rolls, Ahi Carpaccio, Thai Lettuce Wraps, Buffalo Blasts, Southern Fried Chicken Sliders, Fried Zucchini, Soy-Glazed Edamame, Mini Corn Dogs, and much, much more. (The Menu links below give a feel for the main choices.) The great news is that while the dishes are an eclectic mix, the plates are all down-to-earth delicious.
Additionally, fitting for a restaurant only blocks from Disneyland is that it’s casual dining. When a person gets tired of fast food and snacks, it is really enjoyable to come in, sit down and let the Cheesecake Factory’s servers take care of him and his party. Okay, it could be a woman and her party too.
There are three essentials for most people to thoroughly enjoy their dining experience:
- Atmosphere – just covered (see also the slideshow)
- The food itself
For the second bullet, service, Elizabeth R. and her co-workers gave excellent service. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It’s hard or impossible to expect more.
Fresh brewed tropical iced tea / fresh brewed black iced tea, $3.00
The menu at the Anaheim Cheesecake Factory is so extensive it takes up several pages of a spiral bound menu book. Thus, most diners will want to start with beverages while they peruse the menu. The Anaheim Cheesecake Factory serves both a tropical fresh brewed iced tea and an standard unsweetened black tea. Both were refreshing. Their Coke was also good.
Thai Lettuce Wraps, $13.95
Those patrons who arrive really hungry will doubtless start with an appetizer while they scan through the incredible number of options. A favorite appetizer of this reviewer is the Cheesecake Factory’s Thai Lettuce Wraps, which they do a little differently.
Patrons actually create their own from a platter of satay chicken strips, carrots, bean sprouts, coconut curry noodles and lettuce leaves with three delicious Spicy Thai Sauces – Peanut, Sweet Red Chili and Tamarind-Cashew. There were also some marinated cucumbers on the platter. This was a good sized appetizer, easily sufficient for two hungry people.
The Cheesecake Factory provides bib lettuce instead of iceberg, which proved to be stronger and more flexible as a wrap. The carrots come out julienne style while the coconut curry noodles were light with just a hint of curry to them. All three sauces were delicious. The Sweet Red Chili and Tamarind-Cashew were sweet though the Sweet Red Chili had a minor kick to it. The Thai peanut sauce is excellent. The three were good together too.
The Satay Chicken, though normally found as large pieces on a stick, was made of smaller slices like chicken fajita meats. The Anaheim Cheesecake Factory chefs managed to give the chicken pieces a nicely grilled flavor while cooking them only until done. In this way, unlike fajita meat which tends to be dried out, the chicken remained moist and flavorful.
Famous Factory Meatloaf, $16.50
One of the Anaheim Cheesecake Factory’s specialties is their Famous Factory Meatloaf. For many Americans, meatloaf falls under the heading of comfort foods. This meatloaf was exceptionally flavorful. Grilled onions topped the meatloaf while mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and corn succotash accompanied it.
Shepard Pie, $15.50
This dish definitely fits the description of comfort food too. Despite how simple it is, this dish is so incredibly delicious. The mushroom gravy was rich and flavorful. Additionally the ground beef, carrots, peas, zucchini and onions were covered with Parmesan Cheese Crusted potatoes
Low Carb Cheesecake with Strawberries, $7.95
For those seeking to minimize their carbohydrates without totally giving up on dessert, the Cheesecake Factory offers their creamy, smooth Low Carb Cheesecake on a graham-walnut crust sweetened with Splenda®. They served it with strawberries on the side.
Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake, $7.95
On the other hand, for diners who enjoy indulging in decadent desserts, the Cheesecake Factory serves a Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake which is a pecan brownie and caramel-fudge swirl cheesecake, topped with caramel turtle pecans and chocolate.
