Hundreds of Michigan parents are echoing the fortitude expressed in an open letter to ISIS. The letter was written by the popular Michigan community leader with the call name “Weapon M.” Now, scores of Michigan families are admitting their growing realization that the federal government has abdicated its duty to secure the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. A groundswell of community groups are voicing their recognition that Washington refuses to defend America and maintain law and order. Here is the open letter in its entirety:
We have heard of the threats you have made against The United States, even as you cower beneath continuing air strikes.
You threaten that you are in our streets, while we are in your skies. You threaten that you are in our cities, while we fly over your villages made of mud and sand.
You claim that we are always on your mind, as if you are fans of Willie Nelson.
You are not on ours … We conduct our lives, daily, with no thought or regard as to how insignificant you are.
While you practice unspeakable acts of cruelty and slaughter against your neighbors, Americans live freely. You do not frighten us. You do not terrorize us.
It is easy to attack unarmed, peaceful people. It is easy to acquire weapons which have been dropped in the sand by an army unwilling and unfit to defend its own people.
It is easy to behead helpless children, women, and the elderly. It is even easy to massacre adult men who have thrown up their hands in surrender, hoping for a mercy that does not exist.
You claim that you are willing to die for your cause, the cause of an outdated, backward state. Willingness to die for a cause, any cause, can be seen as an admirable trait, if, and only if, that cause is just and good. Genocide and slaughter against helpless people can never be seen as just.
Come to our shores, threaten us in our streets, and you will have the death which you seek. Here, you will find more than death. You will find defeat, humiliation, and shame.
Americans are not helpless, like your countrymen. We are well-armed, well-trained, and capable of unimaginable violence, should the need arise.
Should you come to our fair land, seeking martyrdom, you will encounter a people with the capability, the means, and the desire to utterly destroy you. There will be no easy targets here; no people throwing their hands up in submission, no cowardice, no pleading, and no fleeing. We will stand our ground, shoulder to shoulder, brothers and sisters, young and old, and we will fight you. We will fight you in our cities, and in our streets, and everywhere you are found. We will fight you. We will find you, we will engage you, and we will destroy you. There is no victory here, no glory here. For you, and for any invader, terrorist, or tyrant, there will be, always, only defeat, and humiliation, and shame.
This, I swear, as an American.
