It is the interview, that Tina Fey and Darrell Hammond may have dreamed about, tonight at 10 pm the interview that everyone will be talking about will take place on OAN television network, Sarah Palin will interview Donald Trump. We kid you not. In an effort to create a safe haven of sorts for the Donald, Palin’s questions won’t tax the candidate with what followers of Donald Trump call trick questions. In fact this week, the Trump camp and supporters like the Tea Party, have been questioning the questions that Trump faces from the news media. It was asked of Trump to what his favorite book was and Trump remarked that it was the Bible. The interviewer then asked for a favorite passage with Trump replied that the Bible was “that’s very personal,” and “The Bible means a lot to me, but I don’t want to get into specifics.” Some took that to mean that Trump couldn’t recall a favorite because he really wasn’t Bible savvy. After the question was asked Palin tweeted that “Lamestream media asks GOP personal, spiritual ‘gotchas’ that they’d NEVER ask Hillary,” Continuing, Palin took aim at the liberal media for their softball questions dealing with any Democrats.
Trump has proved time and time again that this campaign is nothing that the public has ever seen before. Sarah Palin is still popular with the conservative vote and with Tea Party members although, her run for Vice-President ended miserably. Palin, it has been estimated, to make about 12 million dollars a year just for speaking engagements. Trump campaign’s in many ways walks the path that Palin created with her” We need to make America great again,” determination. She walked away from being Governor of Alaska and yet in the eyes of conservatives, an ally and possible future candidate. Yet there are those who believe Trump and Palin don’t speak for the mainstream Republican Party and that the “reality T.V. Mentality” is sure to stop Republican voters to embrace that that type of ticket. That a ticket with a Trump or Palin will cause a Democrat winning the White House again.
The candidacy of Trump is hitting the same notes that Palin has been playing since her run at the Vice-Presidency, win over those who feel alienated from the political process. The blunt, tough talk of both Trump and Palin as endeared those who feel that the country is on the wrong track. Trump has even stated that her would like to have Palin on the ticket with him should he win the Republican nomination. Of Palin, Trump said in July of her being Trump’s Vice President, “I’d love that. She really is somebody who knows what’s happening and she’s a special person. She’s really a special person and I think people know that… like me, she’s got people that don’t exactly love us and we understand who they are and sort of forget about that. But she has a tremendously loyal group of people out there for her.” Turn in tonight at 10 pm on the OAN channel to see the fireworks.
