During an exclusive interview with atombash.com on Aug. 20, Amy Duggar, the fun-loving cousin from “19 Kids and Counting” revealed details about her upcoming Sept. 6 wedding to fiancé Dillon King. According to Amy, the lovebirds met seven years ago through a mutual friend. “We were best friends for a long time,” Duggar explained. The two helped each other through several relationships, finally realizing that they were destined to be together for a lifetime. “I can tell him anything in the world and he always understands,” Amy said during our phone interview on Thursday.
Last month, Amy shared her engagement news on Instagram. As posted by People Magazine, King proposed in the woods surrounded by flickering candles to cast a romantic setting in the great outdoors. On his own Instagram account, King wrote afterwards, “I got down on one knee because you are the only woman I have and will truly love forever.”
The happy couple recently posed for a different kind of photo session. Amy told Us Magazine that the engagement shoot focused on an old-fashioned mud fight. That’s why their white shirts were splattered and filthy. She said the photographers captured their fun-loving relationship to a tee. Amy joked, “Just two kids madly in mud!”
So, this time around, Amy will star in her own Duggar wedding, but this one won’t air on national TV. And yes, she’s perfectly fine with that. Amy had just two and a half months to plan her wedding, but had almost everything done in the first thirty days. She claims that she’s the opposite of Bridezilla and is cool as a cucumber leading up to her big day. “It just came together so quickly with no mistakes,” she explained. Amy chose rose and gold as her color theme and she will have six bridesmaids in her wedding party, including Dillon’s sister. Although she sang at Jill Duggar’s wedding, Amy won’t sing at her own. Instead, one of her mom’s friends will sing and a world-renowned pianist will play during the ceremony.
During our interview, Amy was asked for five words that best describe Dillon King. She thought for just a moment and replied, “Energetic, outgoing, thoughtful, hilarious and protective.” Dillon then got on the phone and used these words to describe Amy: “CRAZY, beautiful, caring, compassionate and sexy.” Leading up to their Labor Day weekend wedding, the two are going through premarital counseling. Dillon recently gave Amy a string of pearls after one session, saying it signified his unending love for his fiancé.
So, what’s next for Amy Duggar after her wedding? Well, she and Dillon will head to somewhere toasty warm for their honeymoon. She won’t reveal the location, but said that Dillon planned the perfect trip. “He really rolled out the red carpet,” she added excitedly. Following their romantic honeymoon, Amy and Dillon will reside in their Arkansas hometown. They have plans to build a house and spend a lot of time with their loved ones, including the super-sized Duggar family from “19 Kids and Counting.” For now, Amy’s music career is on the back burner as she focuses on starting her life as a new wife. She even hinted that she might go in a different direction entirely. “Life is too short to do just one thing,” she stated. That’s so true for the always-on-the-move, always confident Amy Duggar.
