On Friday August 21, 2015 the five top finalist from American Idol 2015 hit the stage at the Grande Exposition Hall inside the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. This season (2016) will be the final season of the very popular TV series.
The American Idols Live Tour 2015 is a summer concert tour in the United States that will feature the Top 5 finalists of the fourteenth season of American Idol. The tour began on July 7, 2015, in Clearwater, Florida and end on August 28, 2015, in Riverside, California. Like the previous tour, the size of venues will be smaller and for the first time the tour will feature the Top 5 instead of the usual Top 10. After not having a live band for the 2014 tour, there is one for this tour.
This years Top 5 finalists include, Nick Fradiani (Winner), Clark Beckham (Runner-up), Jax (3rd place), Rayvon Owen (4th place) and Tyanna Jones (5th place). This examiner, being a big fan of the show felt that 3rd place winner Jax should have won this season, but that’s what happens when you don’t vote I guess.
The set went around 90 minutes (sorry no set list for this one). Attendance for the show was not to bad with most of the seats occupied. If I had to guess, I would have to say about 93% of the seats were taken. That’s pretty good since a couple of the shows on the tour played to half empty venues. Reno knows how to support music tours. There were plenty of youngsters there, I ran out of ear plugs very quickly.
The show started out with all five performers coming out for a song and then they each came out for their solo part starting with winner Fradiani and then went on down the line. The only problem this examiner had with the show was that I felt they did a little to much talking and not enough singing.
After seeing a few of the past Idols that have come and played the Reno/Sparks area over the years (this show included), I can tell you that watching them on TV does them no justice, they all really can sing very well. There’s really nothing like a live show if you ask me.
All in all this was a very good concert. It’s just to bad there is only one season left of American Idol, I for one will miss it.
A great time was had by all.
The Silver Legacy is still one of the best venues in town to see a show, the staff is top notch and is always very helpful and kind. To see who’s coming there next (click here).

As with all this examiners reviews and feature stories, I always say, “The photos are what it’s all about, so check out the photo slideshow and enjoy the show”.
