“Hawaii Five-O” has been hard on the heart of Alex O’Loughlin, the elite force’s hottest cop, Steve McGarrett, thus far in Season 6, but last Friday, things took a turn to the upswing in the blossoming romance category, with the unexpected arrival of Sarah Carter as Lynn Downey in “Na Kama Hele” (Day Trippers), as per November 9 recaps, and the impromptu couple already have a chemistry that doesn’t quit. It’s hard enough to rebound when the love of his life, Catherine (Michelle Borth) leaves him twice for the hither regions of Afghanistan, or who knows where, in allegiance to duty over her loyal dude, and this new coupling seems to be starting with a nice, comfortable, low burn that will build to something hot. Besides her blonde beauty, Carter brings a strong resume to her new role and residency on the island.
O’Loughlin and Carter shared some meaningful brief caresses against cut off shorts on the hips as Steve offered some coaching on driving their boat, before that random shooter stalked their whereabouts, but Sarah Carter doesn’t need any lessons when it comes to being on the screen. This unique 35-year-old brown eyed girl was born in Canada, Toronto, to be exact, but raised in Winnipeg. She was a stage regular in productions of The Sound of Music and A Chorus Line from her preteens through teens, and after a year studying abroad to enrich her senses of the world, Sarah enrolled in Toronto’s Ryerson Theatre School, in which she devoted herself fully and became a standout. At not quite 20, she landed a role in the Canadian drama “Cold Squad,” and that set her off to steady work as an actress. She had bit parts in Wishmaster 3 and Final Destination 2, but it is series TV that has been Carter’s most welcoming climate. She has a way of getting noticed, and Sara definitely got noticed on the 2006 CBS drama, “Shark,” opposite acclaimed actor, James Woods, and directed by Spike Lee. That door led to many more roles, such as on “Smallville” and in films. Her most recent regular role was on Steven Spielberg produced “Falling Skies,” in which is part of a earthly renegade remaining the fight against alien forces– no wonder a single shooter with a gun doesn’t faze her much.
Like her leading man, Alex O’Loughlin, Sarah thrives on sun, fun, and water, so “Hawaii Five-O” could not have found a better match, and the way things are looking, Sarah Carter as Lynn Downey is destined to be sticking around for a long stay with Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett.
