Obama leaves on Monday for a three-day visit to Alaska. There, according to AP News, he’ll see the “damage” caused by global warming. Exactly what damage would that be?
According to AP, 3.5 trillion tons of water melted from Alaska’s Arctic glaciers since 1959 when it became a state. Maybe those waters were the ones that increased Antarctic sea ice since then. After all, all eyes were focused on the new state instead of on thickening ice ‘down under’ on the other side of the planet.
According to AP, coastal sea ice is dwindling in summer. Yeah, ice typically melts in summer across the U.S. and now, reportedly, even in Alaska! A belated welcome to the U.S.A. goes out to Alaska as our 49th state, where summer warms things up as well.
According to AP, permafrost is thawing. Recognizing only its awful effects, the president might point out that Alaskans can begin ‘growing their own’ instead of its perpetual sacrifice of food-producing land to growing inedible ice. Such an observation is not likely on the part of the president
According to AP, Alaska’s yearly average temperature has jumped 3.3 degrees since the year that marked statehood in 1959. New England’s glaciated, freezing, record-cold winters of merely the last two years more than makes up for half a century of minutial Alaskan warming. Such counter-balancing local temperatures are constituents of global averages, which, on average and around the globe, haven’t increased in nearly two decades. Alaska is part of the globe, is it not?
According to AP, Alaska suffers more wildfires. Alaska joins the globe in its greening, which satellite data and photos have shown is happening across the planet. Get used to your global membership on greening, Alaska. Wildfire is what happens when Nature thins itself of abundant green growth, a benefit of the benevolent CO2 molecule doing its greening all over the Earth.
The president is likely to dwell on what is awful about Alaska to evidence his ugly narrative of ever climate-changing destruction. It looks, however, more like an ad hoc tactic to protect the global warming orthodoxy at all costs, particularly Alaska’s. What global warming is the president talking about? Without doubt, his remarks can only remark, at best, about Alaska’s local weather.
Nevertheless, Alaska is about to become the poster child of Obama’s miracle mystery myth of global catastrophe that isn’t. Alaska is sure to stand by quietly, silently reaping the benefits Mother Nature provides while Obama sees only “destruction” in the beautiful state.
