According to a brief report on ABC Nightly News with David Muir, former Vice President Al Gore is considering a run for president in 2016. Thus far, the word is brief: the former vice president and 2000 Democratic presidential candidate is not saying he will run but is definitely not ruling out the possibility. This, obviously, is yet another blow to Hillary Rodham Clinton and her currently active-campaign. According to WBUR – the NPR news station in Boston – on Wednesday, the rumors have been about the current vice president, Joe Biden, entering the race by the end of the summer. But now, the still politically-active Al Gore’s name has been seriously thrown in to the mix.
While many want to consider Clinton, the former first lady and former secretary of state, the foregone conclusive Democratic nominee for the 2016 presidential race, there are those who continually insist that isn’t the case. They are far from content with that alleged foregone conclusion. They still have their sights on Bernie Sanders who is gaining in popularity by day as Clinton’s poll numbers decline steadily. They still speak of hopes that Biden will come around and challenge Clinton. And now, the word is that Al Gore is a possibility as well.
Even though the previous reports were that Gore would not run this time around, according to MSNBC, the reports are changing. The logic is that Gore has managed to keep his nose clean, politically, unlike other politicians who have spent much time in Washington, D.C. This is, of course, in stark contrast to the president he served in the White House from 1993 to 2001 – former President Bill Clinton. Beyond being popular among Democrats through the years, he has managed to maintain what is called a high personal level of achievement since leaving office. As it would turn out if Gore should run, he would be running against the woman who was first lady when he was vice president.
All of these potential Democratic candidates in the 2016 presidential election, other than Clinton, are doable now that Hillary Clinton’s scandals are coming full-circle, especially regarding the email fiasco for which she only has herself to blame. She was asked for her email server located at a barn on the Clinton home property but defiantly refused to turn it over to authorities five months ago. It has just been this week that she is coming to her political senses and responding to the demands of the authorities.
Clinton’s email server and thumb drive with copies of emails have finally been turned in along with knowledge that there are classified – and even top secret – pieces of information on the non-governmental home server. Clinton and her camp still balk at the notion that there are any top secret emails. Critics continue throwing the label “liar” at her because they insist she had sensitive and top secret emails on her personal email server, as implied by CNS news.
