A shelter in Merriam, Kansas, has just taken in an ailing puppy who was rescued from a homeless woman who was not able to properly care for her. The Great Plains SPCA introduced the young pup, dubbed “Soli,” to their Facebook followers on Wednesday morning.
The shelter described the situation that little Soli was taken from, “According to the woman, she is one of a litter that was being passed around to members of the homeless community over the past few days.” Soli is suffering from a grade 4 heart murmur and an enlarged heart. At the time that she was taken in, she was so dehydrated that it was difficult to locate a vein to insert a catheter in.
Soli was given her lovely name because she was rescued from the less-than-desirable situation by staff at Soli Printing; the shelter commended the company, “We have named her Soli in honor of her rescuers and will need help covering the cost of her care.”
Anyone hoping to help Soli receive all of the veterinary care that she needs can make a donation to the Great Plains SPCA here.
