When you hear about someone meeting Keith Urban, you often hear how down to earth or genuine he is. Many fans can testify to this truth, especially one special fan, Abigail Zonies. She shared her experience with Keith Urban with us, and we have been delighted to share it with you. In her story, Zonies expresses much about Urban’s presence, and what meeting him meant to her. She also discusses how down to earth and sweet the country hitmaker was. Her story is incredibly moving, and we know it will move you just as much. So, sit back, relax, and read about her incredible experience with her favorite guy, Keith Urban.
My story, like so many others is a story of how incredible Keith and the people around him are. First of all I am in a wheelchair. I can’t speak out loud. But I absolutely love Keith Urban. He seemed so nice and down to earth. So I found out that I won the Meet and Greet the day before my birthday! What a great birthday gift (like the best ever). Anyway, the day of my Meet and Greet I was with my mother and father: the two people who really knew how much I loved Keith. When we got to the venue hours before my Meet and Greet, we met Paxton, Keith’s stage-manager. He was so nice, he even took my name and number. I was obviously a huge Keith Urban fan. My face doesn’t hide anything. So when I got to the Meet and Greet I happened to be first in line, and nobody said anything to me about moving. In fact, they said to me and my mother “you are going in first, alone.” I was barely breathing then because I didn’t know if my mother would be able to come in. I had written a little note that I wanted Keith to read with me because I could not talk. When I got in the room, Keith was not there yet. So, when he came in the ‘box’ (where Urban has personal one-on-one time with his fans) and gave me that famous crooked smile.. It was then where myheart melted. He read my note without question (even though the rule is Keith does not read notes in the Meet and Greets). He held my hand and he talked to me about my note. To say I was excited would be an understatement. I had met Keith Urban, and he was even better than I imagined. That night was the very best night of my life! Thank you Keith for proving to me that dreams really do come true! – Abigail Zonies (Marlton, New Jersey )
