“The Chew” will step outside its Manhattan studio to broadcast from the 2015 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, announced Disney on July 2. The daytime lifestyle TV series will tape five shows with co-hosts Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz in October. “The Chew” will also be featured in two new marketplaces.
“The Chew” shows at Epcot will be taped before a live audience, with the episodes featuring some highlights of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The series also will discuss dining “around the World.” That is, dining at Walt Disney World Resort, with topics ranging from immersive experiences to fine dining to fun and healthy options. The show hosts will share some of their favorite finds.
ABC’s “The Chew” will tape at Walt Disney World on Oct. 7, 8 and 9 and will air during the week of Oct. 12 – 16. Individual interested in being part of the audience during the show’s broadcasts at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival should visit TheChew.com for information on how to obtain tickets.
The Chew” will update viewers on additional festival plans throughout its summer–season episodes. “The Chew” airs on ABC Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. EST, noon CST.
Today’s announcement also offered this tidbit for Disney guests who plan to visit the Epcot International Food & Wine festival some time during its 53-day run. “The Chew” will also be featured in two new marketplaces: Sustainable Chew Marketplace and the Chew Lab. Both marketplaces will located at the New Eats area that will debut this year in Future World, the first time such kiosks will be available in that section of Epcot.
At Sustainable Chew Marketplace, Disney guests can try three dishes inspired by “The Chew” co-hosts: savory pork spareribs with red wine and fennel with cheesy mascarpone grits; ricotta & zucchini ravioli with tomato sauce; and vanilla panna cotta with fresh figs and pistachio brittle. Using herbs and vegetables harvested from The Land pavilion for the dishes’ flavors, this marketplace will focus on showcasing how food is grown and sustainability.
The second new Future World marketplace, the Chew Lab, will feature the results of the collaboration between Disney chefs and “The Chew.” It will offer a cutting-edge marketplace inspired by food-science labs and “culinary tech” trends.
Now in its 20th year at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival runs from Sept. 25 – Nov. 16, 2015. The annual Disney food event includes marketplaces with small bites and drinks, culinary demonstrations and beverages seminars, premium dining experiences, signatures dinners, Eat to the Beat concerts and other experiences. While entry to the festival is included with theme-park admission, most experiences require an additional fee or purchase; prices vary.
