Yes! It is back to school time and as school children everywhere are getting up early and learning their alphabets women everywhere are learning a new kind of alphabet and it is so much more important. The alphabets of skincare the AA’s, BB’s, CC’s and the DD’s of skincare creams and balms that will help your skin but is a confusing conundrum of what to use and when and why. But don’t fret I am a skincare educator and I am here to rescue you and keeping with back to school educate you on the ABCD of these creams and balms and the when, why, and how to use them.
AA= ANTI- AGING PRODUCTS:
AA’s or anti-aging products are products that are there to help reverse the signs of aging caused by the environment, or lifestyle habits. The best way to combat the signs of aging is to used products with ingredients that will exfoliate the skin to get rid of dead cells that do not slough off on their own, and Vitamins to smooth the skin and fight free radicals( which are basically all bad stuff in the air). Using AA’s helps to diminish/ or get rid of fine lines and wrinkles; in order to turn back the hands of times. The best ingredients for successful anti- aging are: Retinoids, Glycolic, and Vitamin C and E. Some of my favorites are: Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant, Circadia’s Night time Repair Plus, Lira Clinical’s Pro Retinol TX Cream, and SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum.
BB= BEAUTY BALMS:
Moving along in the skincare alphabets to BB Creams; BB Creams are beauty balms I love a great BB Cream because it can be a primer, or you can use it by itself. Beauty balms give you light coverage for your face but it is also beneficial for your skin. BB Creams hydrates, primes, and brighten the skin, it will also minimize pores while providing a light even coverage for your face without the heavy feel of foundation and some BB’s even contain SPF providing protection for your skin as well. My favorite BB’s are: Smashbox Camera Ready which does have a SPF of 25, Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, Stilla, , Tart and Urban Decay Naked BB’s all including a SPF of 20.
Can I get a C! or to be more exact; can I get a CC! A CC Cream is a color corrector cream that reduces the appearance of redness, and/or sallowness in the skin the CC cream usually has light diffusing particles. Color Correctors are also usually lighter than a BB and even though you can wear it totally by itself, but it is probably going to go better paired with a foundation, a primer, or go completely wild and combine a BB with a CC. My favorite CC’s are Tart CC with clay which gives an airbrushed look. Mac CC prep & prime which leaves you with a radiant glow paired with your foundation and it has a SPF 30. Finally, NYX CC Cream infused with a combination of Vitamin E and B5, the green color in the cream takes on the natural color of your skin leaving the skin looking perfecto and flawless.
DD= DAILY DEFENSE/DYNAMIC DO IT ALL
Women are multi-taskers so it just makes sense that are makeup/skincare is a multi-tasker as well. Cheerleaders GIVE ME A DD! This dynamic do it all lives up to its name it defines, delays, defends, and delivers for your skin. DD Creams are self adjusting to your skin tone, provide SPF protection, it gives you anti-aging defense by cocktailing antioxidants, and hydrators so that the skin is healthy and beautiful. My choices for DD’s are DERMAdoctor which includes a white sapphire complex which enhance your complexion, and Pur Mineral’s Rescue Squad.
That’s the end of our alphabet soup, I hope that today’s lesson was a fruitful and enjoyable one and I look forward to our lesson; until then remember your ABC& D
