Every day there are thousands of homeless pets in shelters in metro Atlanta who all have the same wish – a forever home. They are dreaming of waking up in a home where they are loved and cherished and are a member of the family.
Throughout the month of August I will be featuring pets from local shelters and rescue groups who are hoping to celebrate the end of summer by finding their new forever home with their very own human family and a safe and secure place to sleep at night.
Bay from Good Mews Animal Foundation in metro Atlanta has a special message that he posted recently on the Good Mews Facebook page:
Hi friends! My name is Bay, although my foster mom likes to call me Bay-Bay because I cuddle with her like a baby. It’s so embarrassing! But I have to say I love to cuddle and purr really loudly so I put up with the nickname.
My siblings, Ash, Daisy, Ivy, and I had a great mom – we think of her as supermom. We were born outside and our mom was struggling to find enough food for herself so she could make enough milk to feed us. She was so worried about us that she carried us one-by-one onto a really nice lady’s porch and she took care of us until she found help from Good Mews. Our mom’s name was Faye and we’re so happy she’s already been adopted! Now it’s our turn.
We will be at Good Mews this weekend, so come by and meet us. For the first time ever, Good Mews is offering a kitten adoption fee of just $10 because they want to find great homes for us and be able to rescue more kitties who need homes. Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all vaccinations, and a microchip. Can’t wait to meet you and give you a special Bay-Bay cuddle!
Bay is a three month old male black and white kitten and is available for adoption. Here is some additional information about Bay from the Good Mews website:
After running and playing and chasing anything that moves, sweet little Bay will cuddle in your lap and purr forever. He has the cutest little white spot under his chin, which is what distinguishes him from his near-twin brother, Ash. He also has two sisters, Daisy and Ivy. He is quite confident and likes to explore. When he’s ready to relax, he’ll let you hold him like a baby and scratch his chin. He will need a kitten playmate – perhaps one of his siblings!

About Good Mews Animal Foundation
Good Mews is a cage-free, no-kill cat shelter offering an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area. They provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until they can be placed in permanent, loving homes. Since 1988, Good Mews has placed over 7,000 cats in forever homes. The shelter receives no government support and relies solely on donations of time, services, goods and money from its many supporters and local businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents on any given day – most of whom reside at the Shelter in Marietta, with some cats residing in foster homes.
