Have you ever been looking through your travel photos, looking for a very specific photo, but you’ve taken so many pictures during the trip, that it’s taking forever to find the picture that you want? There’s a new app out for iPhone users, called Picjoy and it will soon be available on Android as well, that will allow you to tag your pictures, write notes or reminders next to a specific photo and search all your photos with simple search terms such as “cloudy”, which would bring up all your photos taken on cloudy days. You can even narrow the search more, by adding more descriptors and it’s free!
Picjoy will even allow you to create stories around each trip, right on the app! This makes it so simple to keep track of which photos were taken where, and what was happening or any other details you want to add. Usually, once you get home from your trip, trying to remember the little details can be more difficult than you think. For example, if you traveled to 3 different beaches, as you would on a cruise, when you get home, and are looking through your photos, it can be hard to distinguish one beach from another, but if you tag them when you take them, that problem disappears. You can also add notes about things you want to remember about that location. It makes it so easy to find specific photos, without all the scrolling you would have to do normally.
Some people go on vacation, and while there, perhaps take a foodie tour. You go to a number of different restaurants and sample the food on these types of tours. Some of the food is presented so beautifully, that it’s a work of art, making you hate to cut into it and ruin the beauty of it, so you whip out the phone and grab a shot of it. With Picjoy, you can tag it with the name of the restaurant, it’s location and what the dish is called at this particular restaurant. You’re not going to be able to remember all the names of the various dishes once the tour is done, so this gives you a very simple solution.
Most of us are always looking for tips and tricks to make things easier and this app fits that bill. This would be good, not only for travel, but for school events, sporting events, parties, or even daily life for those moments you catch that are completely unexpected, and you can build the story around the photos, while it’s fresh in your memory, then pull it up later and print it for your scrapbook or any other project. You can also print your photos in Picjoy via Snapfish if you prefer. So if you’re looking for a way to quickly organize all your photos and keep it simple to find specific photos, then you’ll enjoy using Picjoy. You can get it free here at the iTunes store and for Android users you can sign up to be notified when it becomes available.
