“48 Hours” is an investigative program that covers crime & murder in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported & narrated by Jim Axelrod.
“The Doctor’s Daughter” opened with Jenna Neulander screaming into her phone at a 911 operator. She was calling from another house & ran to her dad’s home on Sept. 17, 2012. She found Robert Neulander trying to revive his wife Leslie. She suffered a massive head wound & had fallen in the shower. Jenna called 911 inside Robert’s house & was still hysterical.
Doctor Robert Neulander sat down with prosecutors 15 month’s after Julie’s death. He admitted that he slept separately from his wife because they were separated. He let go of half of his medical clients over insurance issues which cost him a lot of money. Robert claimed that he couldn’t see anything in the bathroom because of dimmed lights. He decided to drag Julie into the bedroom to perform CPR. That’s when Jenna came into the home & again called 911.
Investigators questioned the blood spatter on the bedroom wall & bed head board. They believe that Robert bludgeoned his wife to death & then put her in the bathroom. Robert had so much blood on his shirt that he was forced to take it off. That bloody shirt was never found. The bed sheets were changed too. The defense claimed that Julie had “vertigo” where she is scared of heights. That’s why she fell.
Julie’s head injury is more serious than just a fall in the bathroom. Dr. Robert Neulander was arrested in the death of his wife. You can watch “48 Hours” over at CBS.
