Happy Birthday Kylie Jenner! Today, August 10, 2015 marks the day the fashion icon officially turns legal. After a grandiose gift giving ceremony including a Ferrari (would we expect anything less?) the surprises continued as Jenner shocked everyone with a new hair style. Just when we thought the salon had to cut her off, she emerged as a blonde.
In a family full of personalities, it is difficult to stand out amongst the pack. Or even get a word in edgewise. There’s Kendall the model, Kholoe the loud one, Kourtney the family girl. If Kylie were to have a label, it would be beauty queen. The newly 18 year old has debuted so many new styles it is hard to keep up. She has the most watched Snapchat in the world because people are just dying to see what she will do next. In honor of her newly adult status, check out 14 times Kylie Jenner stole the room with her not so subtle beauty moments.
Kylie was one of the first celebrities to try grey hair. It was a huge risk that paid off. The metallic color against her dark black hair was fashion forward and sparked a worldwide trend.
Big hair, big curls. Thank god for hair extensions. As much as I wish I could say this was “all natural,” that would be a big lie. And anyone who has seen Kylie’s natural hair (below) will know achieving this from that is relatively impossible. No matter how much hairspray you use.
For awhile Kylie was on a teal craze. This black bob with a teal tint was more of a subtle hint at where she was headed. Ombre was clearly too simple for Kylie; if her style has shown us anything it’s that she likes a little edge.
But yes, Kylie like everyone at some point did have her ombre moment too. Falling at a very flattering shoulder length she stayed traditional; blonde ends merging into her natural brown locks.
Love it on a bob, love it fully grown. The teal represented Kylie’s transition to the more self-exploratory and risque style that we all know and love.
The weirdest but arguably.. the coolest? Brighter than the teal, Kylie went for a full head of this light blue color, channeling her inner mermaid.
Flashback, flashback, flashback! In honor of Kylie’s birthday a couple of old pics are thrown in just for the sake of a throwback. It seems Kylie has always had a thing for colored ends; then pink and now teal.
The bob craze brought on a couple different colors. When the teal settled in and began to fade it almost had a rainbow effect; maybe causing the hype of of the trend in present day?
Every once in awhile we do catch Kylie in an updo which is pretty exciting. Granted, it’s not teal hair, but never getting a break from the middle part makes a half pony feel like breaking news.
The man bun
The “sweatpants hair tied chillin’ with no makeup on” look. Everyone has one. Props to Kylie for even being on trend when nobody is watching; debuting a man bun versus a simple pony. There is no time off in fashion.
Simple is a world that rarely makes an appearance in Kylie’s world, and is even rarer in the Kardashian house. Being able to see Kylie in an easy, flattering hair style once in a while was nice and refreshing.
Who doesn’t love a classic? The easy layers and natural highlights representative of Kylie’s early years are just as cool as her granny hair.
The bangs of season 1. You can’t help but say d’awww in your head. This may not have been her most flattering look, but bangs are just one of those things everyone has to try once. So we get the struggle, Kylie.
Channeling your inner Kim with the color choice a bit there, Kylie? In her latter years Kylie stuck with this color palette; an overall dark tone. It brings out her natural features and bold makeup choices that she uses daily.
And finally, the big blonde debut!
