It appears Bristol Palin is following in her mother’s footsteps. The younger Palin took to her official blog to rip Fox News and support Donald Trump for president.
After the first Republican primary debate, Trump and the Fox News Channel appeared to be headed to a divorce. The once comfortable place for the billionaire real estate mogul has become enemy number one after he made controversial comments about host Megyn Kelly. After former half term governor Sarah Palin endorsed Trump, her daughter Bristol did the same in a critical blog post on August 11.
“It’s official,” Palin wrote. “I used to use this blog to point out how liberals use the ‘outrage industry’ to manipulate people and keep their power. Now Republicans are just as bad.” Palin pointed to the hypocrisy of Fox News regular and owner of RedState, Erick Erickson, for disinviting Trump to a conservative event after he made controversial comments about Kelly. Listing three examples of evidence within Erickson’s past showing his own history of controversial comments about women, Palin was ruthless. The most notable example being a fake picture of Sarah Palin that Erickson used in an article where he was critical of the former vice presidential candidate. Palin also made it clear that she didn’t endorse everything Trump stood for, but was sick and tired of the “politics of outrage” that many have engaged in.
Fox News was the next target, as Palin pointed to their own hypocrisy for attacking Trump for alleged sexism. “Before we get off the topic of Fox News and the fact that they are ‘oh-so-shocked’ at the supposed sexism of Donald Trump…here’s a little perspective,” Palin prefaced. Referencing the time Fox News host Chris Wallace joked about her mother sitting on his lap during an interview, Palin also noted that Fox News CEO Roger Ailes once said “I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.”
Palin closed her blog by taking a shot at The New York Times, but not before she let Fox News have it one more time. “Fox and Erickson need to get off their high horse on how outraged they are NOW about sexism and decency.”
